Booking
To make a booking for a tattoo, we prefer you to come into the studio to see us in person.
That way, we can give you a more accurate quote, take photos, tracings and reference images (if we need to) and discuss your ideas.
We may then book you in for a more in depth consultation with your artist. However, this is not always necessary.
If this is not possible, we also take bookings via email, instagram and Facebook.
We require a non-refundable deposit to make your appointment.
We accept cash and card.
This deposit acts as a contract and instalment for the design of your tattoo and comes off the final payment of your tattoo.
We also accept walk in’s for tattoos, if we aren’t busy.
Please book to avoid disappointment.
Pricing
We charge £70 an hour for large, ongoing work.
Smaller pieces are priced on design and size .
£40 minimum charge.
£100 deposit is required for large, ongoing work.
£50 deposit for large/medium sized tattoos.
£20 deposit for small tattoos.
Deposits are carried over to future appointments and come off the final sitting.
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable between customers and artists.
Please only book in if you are 100% certain on what and which artist you want.
We offer free consultations.

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy at Tough Love.
Deposits will be lost if not enough notice is given to reschedule appointments.
This includes if you turn up to your appointment and you cannot be tattooed because you are sunburned, under the influence, have pre-existing conditions that disallow you from getting tattooed or if you continuously cancel or reschedule your appointments.
What to Bring
We have hot and cold drinks available plus sweets for you to snack on but please feel free to bring your own!
We also have a variety of things to keep you entertained such as music, tv, gameboy, magazines etc but again, please feel free to bring something to keep you entertained.
Please bring photographic I.D with you. We cannot and will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18.
Please ensure you are wearing suitable clothing. We have a toilet should you need to change into more adequate clothing to allow access to the tattoo site. Do not wear or bring anything that you mind getting ink on. We do try our best to be neat and tidy, however accidents and splashes do happen.
We take card and cash.
Other FAQ’s
Getting here:
There is free on street parking for 3 hours, surrounding the studio. Please remember to bring your parking disc. Please ask for one if you don’t have one, we have spares!
If you are getting tattooed for a full day session we do have scratch cards, however these are limited so we can only offer these, to those customers staying for more than 3 hours.
The train station is only a 10 minute walk away. Buses also stop on Columbus Ravine and Manor Road, which are only a 3 minute walk, at the end of the street.
Cover Ups:
We have a lot of experience, covering up tattoos at Tough Love. However some tattoos may need to be lightened with laser before we can cover with what you want.
Please pop into the studio so we can see the tattoo you want covering in person and we can advise you from there.
Tattoo Removal:
We don’t offer tattoo removal at Tough Love, however we highly recommend ‘Unique’ on St John’s Road, Scarborough.
Accessibility:
We are wheelchair accessible to the front studio. However there is a step into the kitchen and toilet.
